Running Accomplishments:

I have placed in the top three of my age group in the Valley of Fire half marathon twice I believe. (doing this from memory) I placed 2nd in my age group for the Coyote challenge one year for the 5K. (once more from memory, dont remember the year, gotta look it up.) and ran varsity cross country and track and field in High School. weee! Also ran at Dixie State last season, was the fastest but it was a lovely learning experience and oppertunity!

Short-Term Running Goals:

hmmm, I want to drop my 5K times to 25 minutes and change.

I want to run the Diamond Valley Half Marathon all the way through comfortably.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a half marathon in under 2 hours. Complete a marathon in under 5 hours.

Actually make it to run the St George marathon. (have planned on it but never really set my sights high and trained well to be confident enough to do it. One day...in my life-time hence long-term...I want to Boston Qualify. =) one day. ;-)

keep running strong and consistantly

Personal:

my family is pretty much the most amazingest you can ever meet. (no biases of course lol) st george is super awesome and i love it. I love running, its fun but also relaxing and it truly does help you mentally physically and any other way you need. =)

No miles today. This is a, 'hey guys, something snapped and I am ready to get serious' kind of post.

I am sick of slacking, sick of being slow and knowing that I can get faster. I remember in cross country and track in HS where I was so close to getting to my goals, it gets a little hard, and I give up. Well, I am tired of doing that. I want to run fast, I want to run consistantly. I want to run a Half marathon and Full Marathon ALLLL the way through and feel good at the end. Yeah, those are my goals. I had to write them now, while I am feeling passionate. =)

Tomorrow I will add them to the cool side bar

<---over there, that has my fun stuff.

 and I will reach them.

So, for starters....since I havent ran in FOREVER. I am going to go run 3 miles at a nice consistant pace tomorrow, so I dont feel like I died and not want to run on Thursday. Does that sound reasonable? Am I starting up okay?

Race: Spectrum 10K (6.2 Miles) 01:15:23

So I ran the Spectrum 10K with my mother today. It was alot of fun. My weeks running was crappy, I did do cardio the other day with Ruth when we went biking, but today was it for running.

A race was what I needed to get me kicked and excited for running. It was so much fun. My time was 1:15:23. Way slow, but I wasnt doing it for time, I was enjoying time with my mom. And in all actuality I dont know if I could have brought it in much faster and still feel good afterwards.

I felt fine most of the time. My chest got a little tight at the beginning, after going a ways though I felt my breathing ease and my muscles get completely warmed up. So over all it was great. It makes it want to go run another race sometime. =)

As for the places for the report above...I didnt look. tee hee. I was just enjoying finishing and running again. =) A good starting place perhaps???

So, I stayed up way late last night and decided I would just sleep in until right before I had to get up and start getting ready for work...which was at 11. I got off at 8 so there was no daylight to run in. =(    So I ran 3.25 miles on the treadmill. I dont like running on the treadmill. It kind of helps that Golds gym has the cinema room for running, so I watched fantastic 4 which was cool...but yeah...

I ran the 3 miles with some intervals. over all, half a mile of each mile I ran way fast. But over all, my time was slow. 47:07. That averages like 14 min miles or something.

My muscles have been telling me all weekend since the race that I am more out of shape than I thought. heh heh. So, I felt my muscles quite a bit while running today.

I will get back in shape though. because guess what....I'm gonna be AMAZING! =) It felt good to go running even if it was on the treadmill. =P

okay, check me out. I ran more today than yesterday...and it is only 3 minutes slower. =P I did the 4.39 miles in 50:53. When i hit the 3.25 I checked my time to see how it compared to yesterdays run and...I was at 40 or something like that, i think but yeah, I did better.

 here are the splits. mile 1- 10:33; 2- 12:37; 3-12:07; 4-11:22; and my .39-4:13

The first mile was down hill and flat. The second and part of the third were alllll up hill. =(  and then the rest of the third and the fourth were down hill and a flat. =)  So...I definitely went a bit fast on the first one looking at the other times. As far as how I felt, my right arch and knee were aching a bit. I think I might need to get new shoes. =D My quads complained but other than that...it was good. So, go me!

What a beautiful day it is! Running was so good. My body was a little tired...but...I kinda ran faster than I should have for just starting again. I was tempted oh so much by the beautiful weather, the slight breeze and the easy 3 mile coarse..thingy.. I found. Here are my splits.

1-11:24; 2-10:52; 3-10:54; .37-4:02

It was a great run. I feel good. My quads are still complaining a little. I am going to stretch good. And...I will have a little more self control and run slower so I get into shape without injury. =) Though, most of you could probably walk fast at my pace. heh...I will get faster. =) You just watch. But seriously though, I need to be breathing easier, so I need to slow down.

I hope everyone elses runs are going fantastic!! XDXD

So, I got really really sick last weekend and week. I usually dont ever get sick, specially sick enough to call off work, and I ended up calling off of work. =(   But I am feeling better. I ate real healthy yesterday until my cousin said she had a rough day, so we bought some Ben and Jerrys...I felt way guilty afterwards cause I ate WAY more than I should. So we ran 1.8 miles for fun.

I'll get back on track. I intend to get new shoes and inserts this week. =) and I will finally have a bike this weekend too. I plan to ride to school and work. =D
